Gold standard achieved in dementia care training

Mary Becket of Beechtree Totalcare in Margate has achieved the prestigious Gold Standard in the Alzheimer’s Society approved trainer scheme, being judged ‘outstanding’ in all the categories in the assessment.  Already one of a small group of experts in dementia care training, this award will mean that Mary is able to ensure that care staff working for Beechtree continue to get the best training in this demanding field.

Mary is delighted with this additional recognition for the work Beechtree does for the community in Thanet.  “Sadly, demand for care for people with dementia continues to grow, but with specialist training our staff can make an enormous difference to the quality of life our clients enjoy.  We aim to help people retain their independence with dignity.  Faced with illness most of us want to be able to stay in own homes for as long as we can and we can help our clients do just that.”

Beechtree Totalcare is no stranger to awards.  In 2009 they were named “Home Care Business of the Year” by Ceretas, formerly the British Association of Domiciliary Care, and each year they pick up a number of accolades.  “Winning awards is a hugely satisfying experience for everyone at Beechtree Totalcare,” explained Mary, “Obviously it can be valuable from a publicity perspective, but most importantly it gives everyone in the team more public recognition and an extra boost to the pride they take in their work.”
